HEALTH TRIP 1: Knocked Out

The little gym I go to went belly up last week, a victim of economies of scale. Despite its lofty status as a monopoly – it being the only gym in this small Samar capital masquerading as a city – the numbers just didn’t pile up and the owner had the good sense to quit while he’s ahead.

But it’s bad news for me who has started to rely on sporadic trips to that gym to keep unwanted avoirdupois at bay. What to do? No choice but to hit the pavement at the boulevard along the beach and do an hour of brisk walking before going to work.

And it seems a lady gym mate had the same idea. This morning I found her on the boulevard, leading a pack of geriatrics, happily wiggling their fat asses to loud disco music.

And so life goes on….

Glad to see you're back, Pards! Like you, I take brisk walks too. I started around April of last year. The only thing is I only get to do it on weekends. Nawalan ako ng 15 pounds as a result.

The gym that you went to, was it a large one? I'm surprised that even as a monopoly, it still went belly up.

where customers come in cut-off maong shorts
at medyo kalawangin ang weights
hehehehe

i guess di pa ganun kalaki ang market for gym goers here
this place doesn't have a lot of corporate types
and people will most likely balk at the 400 pesos a month fee
thinking of it as a waste of good money
har har har har!

man, at least you still get to do your briskwalks. these days, only my fingers my eyes and my jaw get exercised. hahaha

keeping it that way is a pain, though. aaaargh!!! wait till you get to be my age har har har har!!!

btw, ikaw ang kailangan magdagdag ng weight. you're too skinny! i know it's cool pero wag sobra, heheh

good for your miki! you still have the time to exercise. ako wala na. even walking up and down our 3-storey office is very tiring.

i force myself to get out of bed at 5am to do it. aaaaargh!!! naku, mahirap yan na hinihingal ka na going up a 3-storey building bai. dapat na talaga mag exercise heheh
